Module 5 – Seed Health & Pathology
In this course, we will work around the different pathogens related to seed and seedling health and vigor. We will discuss all different groups of organism, such as fungi, bacteria, viruses and animal pests, including nematodes and insects. We will address the physiological conditions such as trace element deficiencies and the transmission of seed borne diseases, critical control point, different detection methods as well as available tools to prevent or cure these pests.
The aim of this module is to provide understanding and enable participants to master all important aspects of seed health, pathology and sanity which are essential in the current competitive nature of seed industry, prioritizing production of high quality seeds free of pathogens and pests.
